K24 TV host John Maina, famously known as MC Fullstop, on Wednesday, March 29, shared heartbreaking news revealing that he was surviving on one lung.
The renowned reggae MC indicated his left lung collapsed due to tuberculosis (TB). The Riddim Vybz show host narrated that TB had severely damaged his left lung, making it difficult for him to carry out his daily activities.
MC Fullstop, who also hosts a reggae show on NRG Radio indicated that the infection had even hampered his speech.
The K24 TV host revealed that he was diagnosed with TB in 2021, which affected his breathing ability. Despite seeking medical attention, the situation worsened after he was informed that TB had also affected his throat.
"My left lung has totally collapsed, I only have one," MC Fullstop wrote.
"In 2022, I was diagnosed with throat TB which affected my voice. Running, walking and even talking became difficult," he added.
The NRG Radio host further explained that unlike the liver, which can regenerate itself, the lungs cannot heal themselves. He confirmed plans to readjust his lifestyle to live with one lung.
However, MC Fullstop thanked his supporters and fans, who he indicated had helped him throughout his health struggles.
Samuel Muraya, a former DJ attached to NTV led Kenyans in sharing messages of support to MC Fullstop.
"You are a legend and one of the baddest in 254 and for sure brother God heals. Keep praying and trusting him in this whole process," DJ Mo wrote.
Citizen TV's Talia Oyando also wished the MC a quick recovery.
"Sending you positive energy and love bro. Keep fighting you got this," Oyando wrote.
