The iconic Central Bank of Kenya(CBK) Pension Towers, an ultra-modern Ksh2.49 billion skyscraper in the heart of Nairobi Central Business District(CBD), was designed by Kenyan architects.
The twin tower with 27 floors was designed by the brilliant architects attached to Aprim Consultants' firm located in Karen.
Led by Principals Joseph Maina and Jared Momanyi, the architectural firm has designed several other projects in Nairobi ranking among the coolest and most modern buildings across the continent.
Aprim Consultants consists of four senior architects and five graduate architects.
CBK pension Chairman Dominic Mwenja noted, during the launch of the building by former president Uhuru Kenyatta in May 2022, that the tower had been honoured by China even before it was opened for operations.
“I am happy to tell you that Kenyans are creative and can design such an iconic building which has even been featured in China as one of the most ultra-modern buildings in Africa,” he noted.
The architects have also designed a 16-storey tower that will be Xinhua News Agency’s office in Kilimani set for completion in February 2024.
The complex will serve as the Africa headquarters for the Chinese Global Television Network (CGTN).
It will feature, among other things, solar energy, greywater recycling, rainwater harvesting, and LED lighting.
The Kenol Kobil Tower is another skyscraper that will be located in CBD along Haile Selassie Avenue designed by the architectural firm.
The 22-floored tower valued at ksh1.5 billion will serve as the new Kenol Kobil headquarters once completed.
Kerio Valley Development Authority twin tower will be another iconic tower designed by the brilliant minds at Aprim Consultants .
The Ksh4.3 billion government building that will be located in Upperhill will involve the construction of a high-rise office building comprising of 35 floors.
Other notable iconic buildings designed by the architects include the Kenya School of Monetary Studies buildings in Ruaraka, which is a school by the Central Bank of Kenya, the proposed Nairobi baptists church and the Central Bank of Kenya proposed Annex building.
