Former NTV News anchor Daniel Mule was on Wednesday, April 19, nominated as Chief Officer, Public Communications and e-government in Machakos County.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, Mule confirmed the nomination, adding that he was among eight names forwarded for vetting and approval by the County Assembly.

If approved, he will not only work in the Communications department but head it.

"If successful, I promise to improve service delivery through communication since I would utilise my expertise and experience in the media," he noted.

The scheduled interview is set for Thursday, April 27, at the Machakos County Hall along Mwatu wa Ngoma Road, Machakos Town.

If he's successful in the vetting, he'll move from his current position at the Africa Medical Research Foundation (AMREF) as a communication and Advocacy Specialist. Mule previously worked at NTV for a decade; with his style and presentation skills earning him the adulation of his peers.

"I thank God for the opportunity to work at this station. I got this dream of working as an anchor while doing menial jobs at NCPB in Nakuru.

"The same God who gave me that dream, made it come to fruition hence I say to where there's a will, there's a way," he stated while announcing his departure at Nation.

Prior to his stint in the media, he worked at the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) in Nakuru, carrying out menial tasks including sweeping and carrying sacks of maize.

Mule's fortune changed after he applied to work as a writer for the Nation newspaper, whereby he rose through the ranks to acclaimed status in the media industry.
