KDF Announces 245 Vacancies for Civilians; How to Apply

The Ministry of Defence, on Monday, May 1, announced 245 vacancies for civilians, urging jobseekers across the country to submit their applications.

In a notice through the Kenya Defence Forces, the government agency asked interested and qualified persons to submit their applications before or on May 22, 2023.

The positions include Senior support staff, including sanitary cleaners (118 positions) and Clerical officer (22 vacancies). 

In addition, the ministry stated that it was looking for 17 cooks, 27 motor vehicle mechanics and 10 electricians.

Other professionals invited to submit applications included 19 Artisan tailors and Artisan welders, with 4 vacant positions.

The notice added that there were 10 vacant positions for Artisan spray painters, an additional 10 positions for Artisan panel beaters and 8 vacant positions for drivers.

“Applications are invited for the above posts in the Ministry of Defence. Interested and qualified persons are requested to make their applications,” the notice read in part.

How to apply

Applicants were directed to complete one application form and submit it with copies of the required certificates as detailed on the website.

"The application form may be downloaded from the Public Service Commission website www.publicservice.go.ke.

Further, applicants who had filled out their application forms were directed to ensure that the forms reach the Ministry of Defence Principal Secretary's Office at Ulinzi House.

The government agency also warned against applicants issuing bribes to get any position.  

"Candidates should not give money to anybody purporting to be in a position to help whatsoever to avoid being conned," the notice added.
