Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) on Tuesday, May 2, announced that all candidates who sat for the 2021 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) were free to collect their certificates at their respective schools.

In the notice, KNEC also directed candidates who sat their Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) in the same year to visit their respective schools for their certificates.

"The 2021 KCPE and KCSE certificates have been delivered to all schools.

"Students are advised to collect the certificates from their respective schools," the notice from the examination body read in part.

Filing Complaints

KNEC advised students to lodge complaints and queries on its website in case of non-conformity with their results and other errors.

The examinations body insisted that students could file their responses through its website www.knec.ac.ke and select the Query Management Information System (QMIS) section.

Timely filing of queries enables the examination body to correct and address inconsistencies in KCPE and KCSE certificates.

In 2021, 1,225,693 candidates enrolled for the KCPE exams, while 831,026 sat for the KCSE test.

Magata Bruce topped the 2021 KCPE exams with 428 marks, while Jeriel Ndeda Odero was the best KCSE student with an A of 87.16 points.

The announcement came two months after KNEC published 4,700 names of individuals who had not collected their certificates.

The notice, which was published on Friday, March 10, indicated that the uncollected certificates dated back to 2001.

The examination body, as a result, advised those affected to liaise with their respective schools and education offices to collect their certificates.

"Customers whose names are on the list should carry their faulty certificates to enable them to collect the new ones," KNEC announced.
