Celebrated TV journalist Lindah Oguttu on Friday, May 19, broke silence over online reports that she was working in the construction industry, locally referred to mjengo.

Lindah was shocked by the digital media reports that seemed to have suggested that life had become a steep climb for her, especially, after leaving completing her tour of duty at the Ministry of Sports.

The former TV anchor and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Federation of Kenya Football's Caretaker Committee dismissed the reports as unfounded.

"The picture doing rounds was me at Mwache dam, barely a few weeks before the President went there for a groundbreaking. I was consulting on the project," Lindah who currently works as a Digital Media and Communication Strategist dismissed the allegations.

The reports made unfounded claims that the former Nation Media Group, Standard Group PLC and Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) journalist was forced to start manual work after missing out on government appointments.

"It's a picture that I posted that someone took out of context for clickbait," Lindah clarified, noting that there is nothing wrong with construction works (mjengo).

Lindah noted that the report was contextually designed to social media users who often consume digital news content.

"There is absolutely nothing wrong with working in a mjengo. Thousands do. It puts food on the table," Lindah shared her support for the workers in the construction industry.

She explained that she is doing well in her life, and doing her consultancy work despite missing out on an appointment for the position of Chief Administrative Secretary.

The Media Personality on February 22, asked Kenyans to pray for her after she was shortlisted for the position of Chief Administrative Secretary.

Lindah noted that she relies on her faith as a great inspiration for her vision and ambitions.

However, she did not make it as Chief Administrative Secretary but kept her head up and wished those who got the job well in their endeavors.

Other notable individuals who missed out on CASs list included, Cleophas Malalah who was later picked as UDA Secretary General, former Kirinyaga Woman Representative Purity Ngirici and ex-footballer Macdonald Mariga Wanyama.
