Most Expensive Degree Courses Offered by Kenyan Universities

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) announced the window for 2022 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates to revise and select university courses, with the cost of every programme disclosed.

On the online portal, KUCCPS listed the hundreds of courses offered, the institutions, fees per year, and the cut-off points.

The cost for the programmes range between Ksh67,000 and Ksh612,000 for an academic year.

Kenyans.co.ke sampled the most expensive courses offered by various institutions in the country.

Some of the courses include the Bachelor of Dental Surgery offered at Moi University charging Ksh612,000.

The Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.CH.B), offered at the Kenyatta University (KU), Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), Moi University, and Maseno University at Ksh612,000.

Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Nairobi (UoN) charging Ksh442,850.

The University of Nairobi offers Bachelor of Science (Electrical and Electronic Engineering) at Ksh374,850.

Bachelor of Science (Biosystems Engineering), at the UoN for Ksh375,700, bachelor of Nursing, offered at the Uzima University costs Ksh367,100. 

On the other hand, Bachelor of Science (Geomatic Engineering) at JKUAT costs Ksh336,600 while UoN charges Ksh316,200 Bachelor of Science (Agribusiness Management).

Others are a bachelor of Science in Computer Science offed at JKUAT, Kibabii University, Kirinyaga University, KU, Catholic University of East Africa (CUEA), and Rongo University for Ksh306,000.

The degree is also offered at UoN for Ksh345,100 per academic year.

A bachelor of Science (Geospatial Engineering) for Ksh374,850 at UoN, a bachelor of Architectural Studies/Bachelor of Architecture offered at JKUAT for Ksh367,200, a bachelor of Real Estate at UoN at Ksh345,950 and a bachelor of Construction Management from UoN at Ksh348,500.

Bachelor of Science offered at KU for Ksh336,600, a bachelor of Science (Civil Engineering) at UoN for Ksh374,850, a bachelor of Science (Agricultural Engineering) from Egerton University at Ksh373,540 and a bachelor of Law from Daystar University at Ksh335,000.

Out of the  841,416 students who sat for 2022 KCSE exams 173,345 candidates scored a C+ and above, obtaining the minimum university entry mark.
