5 Kenyan Kids Who Went Viral for Unique Talents

Recently, young Kenyans were making headlines in the country and beyond, due to their exceptional talents and achievements.

The children amazed Kenyans, displaying rare talents and capabilities that were worth noting and appreciating. 

From lecturing several institutions to displaying prowess in mastering current affairs, the children, some of whom were aged below 10 years, displayed their talents and won recognition nationally and internationally.

Here are five children whose talents won them national acclaim.

Baby Ethan 

Baby Ethan amazed Kenyans after a video went viral in which accurately named political leaders in the country, from Members of County Assembly to members of Cabinet, with ease.

The child effortlessly named political leaders from the president down to the MCA and even members of the cabinet

The three-year-old, on May 26, landed a fully funded scholarship after meeting Former Kasarani MP Mercy Wanjiku.

In a statement, musician Karangu Muraya revealed that the former legislator offered to sponsor the brilliant kid after visiting his home in Murang'a County. 

Shanah Manjeru

Kenyan singer Shanah Manjeru was named the winner of the 2022 edition of the Global Kids Achievers Award in the category of music.

Manjeru, 14, received the award due to her outstanding career as a musician despite her young age.

The award recognizes children globally who achieve substantial milestones and push boundaries of excellence in various fields, at tender ages. 

She was part of the 100 children drawn from different parts of the world recognised in the awards aimed at appreciating children who strive to excel in different arts. 

Bethuel Mbugua 

Bethuel Mbugua was acclaimed as a genius and by the time he was aged 9, he had lectured at 300 different academic institutions, notably Dar es Salaam University in Tanzania.

Meet Kenyans

Mbugua was born in 1978 and gained national fame when he joined Rorie Primary in Londiani at six.

By the time he was admitted at the school, he had memorised human anatomy and could effortlessly describe the functions of all body organs. 

Elias Muthomi Gitonga

Elias Muthomi Gitonga, a four-year-old Kenyan boy, was on March 9, 2021, feted in a global award held at the Marriot Hotel, Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Muthomi impressed many Kenyans with his immense knowledge of aeroplanes. At his age, the little boy could name 16 different types of aeroplanes as well as their parts.

The little boy had on different occasions been called by different companies to their hangars where he gets to learn more about the aeroplanes and their parts. 

Munira Abdifatah Abdi

Munira Abdifatah Abdi, a talented 15-year-old girl from Kenya, emerged as the 2022 Quran recitation champion after securing the eighth position in the World Competition held in Dubai. She was awarded Ksh2 million.

Munira finished eighth from a pool of 300 competitors across the world - an astounding feat for the 15-year-old to achieve

Munira had the honour of representing Kenya in this prestigious event, having won local and regional competitions, including the East and Central Africa Competition held in Rwanda in July.
