KTN's George Maringa Quits After 5 Years

Popular KTN News journalist George Maringa tendered his resignation letter on Friday, June 2, ending his five years and 11 months tenure at the station.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, the journalist noted that he was moving to other personal ventures while taking a break from media.

He confirmed to resign from the station where he worked as an anchor and reporter.

"I just resigned today. I am looking forward to starting new things that will be shared soon," he stated.

"My time at the Standard Media Group has come to an end. It has been a great five years and 11 months. I wish you all God's blessings," he signed out.

Maringa joined the station as an intern in 2017 and worked up to be an anchor.

Before being placed at the station's headquarters, Maringa worked as the first-ever reporter in Meru County for three years, he reported stories from Embu, Tharaka Nithi, Meru, Isiolo, Lamu, and Marsabit counties.

Prior to joining the media house, the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) graduate worked for African Virtual University (AVU) in various capacities.

Maringa graduated from JKUAT with a Degree in Mass Communication, majoring in Broadcast Journalism.

"As a bilingual Anchor / Reporter, my strongest attribute is the ability to identify and tell stories in a compelling and impactful way," Maringa added.

The journalist is set on protecting and defending public interests, peace, and human rights, especially for the minority groups and less fortunate in society.
