The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) on Friday, June 9, announced that it had synchronised driving licence services and test booking applications on the eCitizen platform.

In a statement by the agency, applications for the services would be accessed on the online platform by signing in once using eCitizen credentials.

Some services synchronised were applications for provisional driving licences, foreign driving license conversion, smart driving licences, and driving license renewal test applications.

"The Authority reports that all processes relating to driver testing, issuance and renewal of driving licences are now on the eCitizen platform creating efficiency in service delivery.

"We will fully rely on various integrations with state agencies to facilitate the authentication of information and persons accessing NTSA services," read the statement in part.

Further, the road safety agency revealed that motorists with expired licences were urged to apply in the new simplified process.

How to Access Service

To apply, one can visit the eCitizen platform via www.ecitizen.go.ke.

Pick the NTSA services option.

Alternatively, applicants can access the eCitizen services through the NTSA website - www.ntsa.go.ke and pick the eCitizen platform option. Applicants will immediately be directed to the eCitizen platform and log in using their eCitizen credentials.

Upon accessing the online government services platform, all the available services will be listed, with applicants required to pick their choice.

Those who find difficulty were advised to contact the agency through diqueries@ntsa.go.ke.

One can also seek help from Huduma centres or NTSA offices nationwide with their ID cards and driver's licence.

"Through our engagements with various stakeholders during the re-engineering process, the Authority received adequate feedback and to enhance customer service experience, we have simplified the portal design and process flows," read the statement in part.
