American fitness coach Mantas Zvinas went viral after hiring Kenyan rangers at the Masai Mara to stage a fake arrest of his girlfriend during his proposal to her.
In a statement accompanying his Saturday, July 14, video, Zvinas detailed that his girlfriend, Steph Currie, was on vacation at the Mara with her friends when he decided to make a surprise visit to Kenya to pop the big question
After a 15-hour flight from New York, the fitness enthusiast arrived at the tourists' destination and sought the help of Kenyan rangers to contrive a plan to create a memorable moment for the love of his life.
Two rangers suggested that they launch an ambush and fake the arrest of the girlfriend and the driver of the safari vehicle.
True to the plan, the rangers - who were armed with guns and handcuffs - ambushed the vehicle while making rounds at the park before ordering the driver and the tourist to alight.
As was planned, the group was accused of attempting to knock down a lion with all the 'arrested' individuals ordered to put their hands behind their backs. They were all handcuffed
Currie and the driver were also ordered to place their heads on the bonnet.
"Keep your head down," one of the rangers was heard commanding.
During the incident, the fitness coach remained in the ranger's vehicle covered in a Maasai Shuka.
Zvinas then alighted from the vehicle and stood behind his girlfriend even as the rangers ordered her to turn around.
"I will chase you all over the world. I’ll follow you anywhere you go, so you cannot get away from me. Will you marry me Steph?" he popped the question leaving the girlfriend in awe.
Amid the confusion, Currie accepted his hand in marriage while the rangers and all onlookers captured the moment on their phones.
The newly engaged couple celebrated with their friends at a private camp before flying out to the US the following day to plan for their future.
