KUCCPS Adds KMTC Courses on Its Portal; How to Apply

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) on Saturday, July 22, announced the first-ever application for Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) courses on its platform.

This marks the first time medical course applications are being onboarded onto the KUCCPS systems. 

Interested candidates can apply for the September 2023 semester with the application window set to close on August 4, 2023.

"KMTC courses are now available for application on the KUCCPS portal students. The application for the September 2023 intake will lapse on August 4, 2023. Spread the word.

"The application targets individuals who completed the KCSE examination from the year 2013 to 2022," read the statement in part.

How to Apply

To apply for any position, visit the application portal www.students.kuccps.net.

Log in using the student details and apply for the desired course under the application portal.

Some of the courses offered range from certificates and diplomas.

Certificate courses include Medical Engineering, Health Records and Information Technology, Orthopedic Trauma Medicine, Community Health, Nutrition and Dietetics.

Some of the Diploma courses one can apply for include; Medical Laboratory Sciences, Radiography and Imaging, Health Counselling, Nutrition and Dietetics and Community Health.

The new Diploma course in Emergency Medical Technician is also listed on the website.

As per KMTC's qualification criteria for a Diploma course, applicants must have achieved a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade of C, with specific grades in certain subjects. 

The requirements include a minimum grade of C in English or Kiswahili, a C in Biology, and a C- in Chemistry. Additionally, candidates must have obtained a C- in either Mathematics, Physics, or Physical Sciences.

For certificate courses at KMTC, the specific entry requirements differ based on the program of interest. For example, candidates applying for a certificate in Public Health are required to have a mean grade of C- in KCSE. On the other hand, those interested in the Nutrition and Dietetics certificate program need a mean grade of D+ to be eligible.
