The Family Court sitting in Nairobi was left in stitches after Lawyer Peter Wanyama burst into a love song ostensibly to win the heart of the presiding Judge.

Like the Biblical King Solomon, Wanyama used a heartfelt song to convey the intricate and beautiful nature of love.

Using the song, the lawyer guided the Judge through an emotionally charged exploration of the difficulties couples encounter in life.

"For life is like a hill. When wives and husbands fight at home, just let them take a while to settle their emotions, and within no time, they will be back together.

"Should you try to intervene in an issue between a husband and a wife, you will be left in a shameful state," Lawyer Wanyama sang.

In what appeared like a calculated move by the advocate, who appeared in court through a video conference, the counsel was seen taking a deep breath before kicking off his melodious appeal.

His voice rising and falling in a beautiful melody, he passionately spoke of love and loss, of pain and redemption which the song described as the strength of the human spirit and the power of hope.

When he was finished, a moment of silence enveloped the courtroom. Following this, the Counsel confidently and audibly moved towards his closing statements, his voice resonating with emotion, as if shouldering the weight of his client's case.

After the court session, the lawyer shared the clip on social media which ended up gaining traction. Kenyans appreciated his singing skills with most observing that the melody was both catchy and beautiful.

Others commended him for his choice of song insisting it was a tune that anyone could sing along to.

"This is what Professor Sihanya calls poetic lawyering," Omondi Jaganyi, an Advocate of the High Court commented.

Even though the song was not accompanied by lush and romantic instrumentation, the end justified the means as he commanded the court's full attention during the session.

The Lawyer was representing a client in a divorce case, in which he defended the party position and need for a united family.
