How to Pay KWS Park Fees Via Phone After New Changes

Despite the mounting pressure on the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) management due to its decision to enforce mandatory park fee payments through the e-Citizen portal, the agency has remained adamant that it will execute President William Ruto's order requiring all payments to state agencies to be made to one paybill. 

In a statement seen by Kenyans.co.ke, the agency on Tuesday, August 29, advised Kenyans to complete their payments in advance before proceeding to any of the National Reserves across the country to enable them enjoy have a good experience.

"All park entry payments shall be made through the eCitizen Government platform. Note that other forms of payments shall not be accepted at the KWS Parks, Reserves, and Sanctuaries," KWS reiterated.

Paying Park Fees on Mobile Phone:

In the latest directive, visitors can pay for the services on their mobile phone by simply following simple steps:

1. Download the e-Citizen mobile app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.

2. Open the app and create an account or sign in if you already have an account.

3. Tap on the "Services" tab.

4. Scroll down and select "Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS)".

5. Select the park or sanctuary that you want to visit.

6. Enter the number of adults and children in your party.

7. Select the payment method. 

You can pay using M-Pesa, Airtel Money, or credit/debit card. 

8. Review your payment details and tap on "Pay".

You will receive a confirmation message once your payment is successful.

The transaction will be mirrored in the Kenya Wildlife Service system, facilitating the visitor's entry to the park upon arrival at the entrance.

"The transition to eCitizen for revenue collection marks a pivotal moment of transformation. This strategic initiative, carefully designed by the national government, stands as a cornerstone of the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BoT)," BoT Chair Gen. Lt. (Rtd) Walter Raria stated.
