Former Independent and Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) commissioner Abdi Guliye was on Wednesday pictured attending a key event at State House, Nakuru.
The ex-commissioner took a front seat at the function where President William Ruto was engaging milk industry stakeholders on a wide range of issues.
Guliye was flanked by Livestock Development Principal Secretary Jonathan Mueke and Ruto’s Economic Advisor David Ndii.
State House did not disclose the capacity under which the former IEBC commissioner attended the meeting.
During the meeting aimed at transforming the sector to enhance competitiveness and expand value-added opportunities, President Ruto also engaged select dairy farmers at a time when the Head of State has emphasised that agricultural productivity is key to his economic blueprint.
In the event, Guliye was given a front row seat ahead of parliamentarians and other politicians.
Guliye played an active role in the event that saw the government agree to distribute 650 coolers to farmers through cooperative societies.
The cooperative societies will gain access to processors in the government’s new plan with a view to improve the quantity, quality and price of milk.
Guliye was among 3 IEBC officers who declared Ruto as duly elected President in the 2022 presidential election while four others, popularly known as the Cherera four dissented.
At the time, the opposition accused the Guliye-team of colluding with UDA to declare Ruto as the President-elect.
On September 5, the Supreme Court absolved the commissioners of any wrongdoing after upholding President William Ruto’s victory.
