The Billionaire's Resort also scooped the award during the 2022 ceremony.

"It has been a privilege to welcome our winners from across Africa and the Indian Ocean for our 30th anniversary celebrations in Dubai," stated WTA founder Graham Cooke.

"The incredible evening will live long in everyone’s memory. Our winners represent stellar examples of tourism excellence, and I congratulate each and everyone for helping to raise the collective benchmark to even greater heights."

Owned by former Formula One star Flavio Briatoire, the establishment hosts private gazebos neatly organised facing the ocean and has a private butler on call.

Initially, the resort was a closed residential property where a guest needed to call in advance for access to be considered. The resort, however, gradually opened its doors to the public in 2022.

Among the celebrities who have visited the resort are supermodel Naomi Campbell as well as Will Smith and his son Jaden.

Booking costs vary depending on peak and off-peak seasons with some villas going for between Ksh30,000 and Ksh60,000.

Several other Kenyan establishments also emerged victorious including Kenya Airways which was named Africa's leading Airline.

Overall, Kenya was named Africa’s leading destination while Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club was voted Africa’s leading hotel.
