"I am working closely with my counterpart in the Ministry of Interior and National Administration, Prof. Kithure Kindiki, to ensure thorough and conclusive investigations are conducted into the unfortunate incident," Machogu stated.

He added that the results of the investigations shall be shared with the relevant agencies for the necessary action to be taken.

Machogu warned parents against exposing learners to risky activities and environments, especially during the national examinations season.

The CS urged the school and families to keep calm pending completion of the investigations.

He emphasised that the government is working on taking necessary measures to ensure the safety of candidates across the country.

The Saturday evening accident has left the families of five pupils in mourning while one student fights for their life at the hospital.

According to reports, the students had traveled to Amazement Park in Eldoret a few days before the candidates sat for their KCPE scheduled to start on Monday, October 30.

They took turns boat riding in the manmade lake before the boat capsized.
