A bus driver on Tuesday warmed the hearts of Kenyans after changing route to rush a pregnant passenger to the hospital.

The Zuri Genesis Bus driver was on Kiambu Road when his conductor informed him one of the passengers was in pain.

"I heard that one of the passengers was in labour and everyone got worried since we were stuck in traffic," one passenger narrated.

He acted fast and informed the traffic officers who were manning the road.

Through the officer's intervention, the driver drove through the traffic and rushed the woman to the hospital.

The driver was lauded for his actions to help the woman get to the hospital in Ngara.

Following the incident, a section of Kenyans praised the duo and the officer for clearing traffic.

"It's rare to find such kind beings in the driver and conductor sector, keep it up guys," one person commented.

Kenyans lauded those in the transport sector who do the most to help their passengers on the road.

"It's a good act of kindness and humanity, doing something expecting nothing in return," a Kenyan noted.

Similar incidents have been reported in the past including one by Super Metro bus.

The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) gifted the duo as well as the Sacco.

In one incident reported in June, a doctor and employees from the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) helped a woman deliver.

"We are delighted to share a heartwarming story of a mother who welcomed her bundle of joy on board the Madaraka Express Passenger Service train to Mombasa," the management announced.
