This year marked the beginning of a new chapter in the lives of high-profile media personalities and lawmakers who tied the knot at different stages.

The biggest announcement involved the wedding of members of Parliament Eric Wamumbi and Betty Maina where Rigathi Gachagua was listed as a dowry negotiator.

Other big weddings of the year included those of news anchors Ayub Abdikadir and Hassan Mugambi.

Here are five famous personalities who tied the knot this year.

Ayub Abdikadir, a rising star at Citizen TV, wedded his longtime lover Dil Hassan Ali, at a lavish event held at a hotel along Mombasa Road in September this year.

The event was attended by National Assembly Majority whip Sylvanus Osoro and a host of Citizen TV journalists including Managing Editor Linus Kaikai, news anchors Trevor Ombija and Rashid Abdalla, and crime reporter Hassan Mugambi.

The wedding was an invite-only event.

Faisal Ahmed (Citizen TV journalist), Ombija, Osoro, and Mugambi posed for a few snapshots with the groom all dressed in white robes.

The Citizen TV morning show host rose to prominence during the 2022 general election due to his coverage and the tough questions he asked the then Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairperson Wafula Chebukati.
