A group of 10 burglars, on Wednesday morning, broke into Deliverance Church in Elburgon and stole equipment estimated to be worth between Ksh 350,000- 400,000.
Speaking to Kenyans. co. ke Pastor John Gitonga revealed that the incident occurred between 2 am and 4 am.
According to the pastor's account, the thieves gained entry into the church after breaking a window pane, after which, they made away with the equipment.
The man of the cloth revealed that the thugs made away with the keyboard, a sound mixer, and 2 amplifiers.
“The Church’s security guard was manning a different area of the compound, where he was checking on the Girls’ Home. He however found the thieves trying to disconnect the church’s drumming system and raised the alarm”.
No casualties or fatalities were reported during the early morning burglary, which has left the area residents shocked.
The incident has since been reported to the Elburgon Police Station and investigations into the case are ongoing.
The Pastor called on the public to help them locate the equipment.
“If you happen to come across these instruments: keyboard, mixer, and 2 amplifiers. Report to the police that they have been stolen from our church. Deliverance Church Int'l Praise Courts Tabernacle EL'burgon”.
Residents of the area are now calling for heightened security measures in the area, citing increased robberies in the region.
Commenting on the incident, locals from the region complained that gangs have been targeting churches and schools, which they cited as a need to investigate the robberies.
In July, a gang suspected of terrorising residents in the region was arrested after being linked to many insecurity incidents in the region.
