A police officer attached to Keringet Police Station in Nakuru was arrested following an altercation with his boss and colleagues.
According to a police report obtained by Kenyans.co.ke, the junior officer stormed the station on Saturday evening to enquire about a certain prisoner whom he had taken personally to the Officer Commanding Station's (OCS) office.
The situation, however, got heated after the colleagues could not agree, leading the altercation to turn into a fistfight between the two.
Moments later, screams were heard from the station, alerting other officers who rushed to the scene.
Per the report, the suspect was found hitting his colleague on the wall while holding him by the collar.
The colleagues managed to separate the two officers and restrained the angry cop.
Thereafter, the OCS rushed to the station to unravel what had happened.
However, the suspect threatened to fight his boss, hurling insults at him.
The officer, who was injured in the fight, sustained a cut on the head and was rushed to Keringet Sub-County Hospital. According to the report, he is currently in stable condition.
On the other hand, the suspect was taken into custody awaiting disciplinary action. Preliminary investigations revealed that the officer was heavily intoxicated before heading to the station.
Officers attached to the Keringet Station launched investigations into the officers' conduct to determine whether he violated provisions of Section 64 of the Police Act, which requires all officers to adhere to the standing orders and the Code of the Regulations for the time he is in the Service.
If found guilty, the officer shall be liable to disciplinary action as accorded by the National Police Service (NPS).
