Car enthusiasts are often looking for the ultimate thrill that will give them a pulsating adrenaline rush.
To achieve that, they spare no expense in acquiring the most luxurious cars that define class, especially for the top one per cent brass of society.
This is the case of a group of foreigners who sought to participate in an event that mixes adventure and philanthropy by cruising through Kenya for seven days straight using luxury cars. The event is called OneLife Rally.
The group, hailing from Slovenia, began by shipping luxury cars either by plane or sea.
Among the lavish vehicles include the Porsche 911 GT3, a high-revving car that can sprint from 0-100 km/hr in just 3.2 seconds. The Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for the vehicle is Ksh164 million.
The group also shipped a Ksh30 million Ferrari 458, whose design is influenced by Formula 1 racing. The vehicle consists of a 4.5 litre V8 engine that produces 562 horsepower and can accelerate from 0-100 km/hr in 3.4 seconds.
Another vehicle that stood out is the Lamborghini Urus which costs an average of Ksh42 million.
The seven-day journey embarked at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) where thousands of Kenyans thronged the venue to meet the foreigners.
Among the acclaimed guests included Sports CS Ababu Namwamba who got a chance to drive a supercar.
Following the event, they embarked on a 258-kilometre drive to the Maasai Mara Park.
They arrived at Maasai Mara the following day and enjoyed the scenery as they cruised along the Mara.
The seven days involved a cruise around the Mara, Amboseli and Tsavo West National Park while also travelling to the Coast
region in Malindi.
Throughout the journey, the group filmed the cars in action while also honouring the local communities by donating to multiple charities.
One of the foreigners stated that being in Kenya was the best experience of his life.
"Thank you Kenya, for everything, the breathtaking moments, the experiences, stunning nature and incredible moments, Each moment was special, something beyond what we have ever experienced before," he added.
"We are so grateful for this journey. For the moments we have made and the adventures we have shared. This was truly on another level, a journey like no other."
