Another identical accident also occurred on the same highway on December 18, where a 60-seater bus collided with a 14-seater matatu en route to Nakuru from Eldoret, leaving four dead on the spot.

The accident, which caused a traffic snarl-up along the busy highway, left nine other passengers seriously injured. The deceased and those injured were all ferried to the Eldama Ravine Sub-County Referral Hospital and morgue.
