Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu will announce the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Exams (KCSE) results on Monday, January 8.
Reports indicate that the CS will first brief President William Ruto before the results are released.
Machogu is expected to announce the results from Moi Girls Eldoret flanked by top education and government officials.
President Ruto is currently in Uasin Gishu. On Sunday, the Head of State indicated that he would be spending a week in the county.
The release of the results coincides with the nationwide opening of schools after a two-month holiday break.
Teachers in Kericho County had earlier protested the release of the KCSE results arguing that the marking and compilation was done hurriedly.
They cast fears that the results would have anomalies as witnessed in the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) results.
''Let them take their time and analyse and release the correct results such that if a student assorted a C it should be a C,'' they remarked.
In total, 903,260 candidates sat for the 2023 KCSE exams and will be proceeding to different institutions.
Depending on grades scored, candidates will be placed under different tertiary institutions by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS).
Students who score C+ and above will be eligible for different undergraduate courses in public and private universities.
Other candidates will be eligible for diploma and certificate courses in colleges and Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVET) institutions.
