Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria on Monday announced the commencement of a  government roadshow beginning Tuesday, January 9.

Speaking after a meeting with the Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi held at the Railways Buildings, the CS stated that the roadshow will comprise all the ministries in the country.

According to the CS, the roadshow is meant to aid the cabinet in assessing the current state of government projects and also to enable collaboration between all ministries.

Further, the roadshow is expected to help the cabinet align all government development initiatives such as the Bottom Up agenda and Vision 2030.

In his announcement, the CS stated, “The roadshow will bring together 22 ministries to enable us to evaluate government programmes and projects in alignment with The Plan, Bottom Up Economic Transformation Agenda, Medium Term Plan and Vision 2030.”

The Prime Cabinet Secretary, Musalia Mudavadi on his part, affirmed the meeting citing that the cabinet was committed to delivering effective services to Kenyans despite the cabinet reshuffle late last year.

“The leaders have committed to strengthening collaboration, partnerships, and mutual working relationships through 2024”, the statement read.

CS Kuria added that the findings of the roadshow will be tabled in a report to the cabinet during a retreat at the end of the month.

Details of the named retreat are yet to be made available to the public.

However, the announcement has been received with conflicting views from Kenyans who believe that it is not necessary.

According to some responses by Kenyans, the roadshow is unnecessary as the government is expected to already have systems for monitoring progress in place.

“Surely why would a government do road shows whereas it has chiefs and other provincial administration and Huduma centres to popularize its services!”, cited Ibrahim Adan on Twitter.
