Eduardo Pakhomov, a Russian travel enthusiast, made a surprising decision to give up his luxurious lifestyle in his home country after visiting Kenya some years ago when he decided to relocate after being blown away by the country's beauty and simplicity of life.

Pakhmov made the revelation through Afrimax, a continental publisher where he expressed his amazement at how unique Kenya was compared to other places he had visited throughout his adult life.

At one point while traversing Kenya, he visited the Coast, and after visiting a small village in Mtwapa, Kilifi County, he had an epiphany and decided there and then that this was the place he wanted to spend the rest of his life.

Having lived a luxurious life for most parts of his life, the Russian wanted something different, a simple life, which the village in Mtwapa could afford him. In particular, he fell in love with Kenyan food revealing that Chapati and beef stew was his favourite meal.

"I used to travel every year because I thought that there wouldn't be any place for me, that came close to my definition of home, however, things changed when I visited Kenya," Eduardo remarked during the vlog.

He further revealed that one aspect that he likes about village life is how affordable meals are.

"Life here felt simple and easy that's why I decided to make Kenya my home," said Eduardo.

Living alone in a single room with an iron sheet serving as a makeshift window, Eduardo sources his meals at vibandas and spends the rest of his time touring the village and the Coastal belt.

"I am not living in this country because of poverty, but rather because I prefer not to be in a place where life is similar to my home country," he claimed.

As a kid, born into a rich family, Eduardo enjoyed learning and discovering new places. As he grew older, he started travelling more frequently, making it his full-time activity that would see him globetrot.

Before finally landing in Kenya, Pakhomov visited various countries including; Dubai, Malaysia, Egypt, Thailand, and the Philippines, visiting a new country every year, visits which featured short stints when he would return home.

Even though he has been in Kenya for quite some time, his relatives do not approve of his decision, questioning why their kin had resorted to the unconventional despite previously leading a comfortable life in his home country.

Since his relocation, his family has persuaded him to go back home, but he has since dismissed the possibility of that happening.

Instead, he plans on living in Kenya for the rest of his life including starting a family in the village.
