Further, the source revealed that detectives are still at the scene trying to gather information from the locals and determine the perpetrators behind the murder.

The incident highlights the recent trend of gruesome murders involving women since the beginning of January.

Detectives found Wahu's naked body lying in a pool of blood. The lifeless body had stab wounds on the thighs.

The main suspect, John Matara who was captured on CCTV footage escorting Wahu the previous night, is in police custody.

Barely two weeks later, a dismembered woman's body was found inside a polythene bag at an apartment in Roysambu. Police officers attached to Kasarani Police Station identified a suspect who was captured on CCTV footage picking up a key for the short-term rental house he had booked.

Kenyans online have appealed to the police to expedite investigations to dispense justice to the families of the deceased.
