Man Hacks 4 Family Members to Death Under Unclear Circumstances in Kisumu

Police have launched a manhunt for a man who is suspected of having hacked four of his family members to death on Saturday evening in Milenya area located in Muhoroni, Kisumu County.

The man who is currently at large is said to have hacked his wife who was five months pregnant and his 5-year-old son, who were found lying lifeless in their house.

Reports by the family members indicate that they saw a pool of blood flowing from the family’s house only to find the two, having sustained deep cuts.

Further, the man proceeded to his uncle’s house where he lured him by stating that he needed to solve a quarrel between two brothers.

However, he attacked him, with the machete before fleeing the scene, leaving the lifeless 78-year-old man at his homestead 1 kilometre away from where he had killed his wife and son.

“The moment he stepped out, he was hacked on the head twice and he dropped down dead,” a relative narrated.

He is also said to have killed his 58-year-old aunt who was the wife to the deceased uncle before disappearing into a nearby sugarcane plantation.

The bodies of the deceased were moved to the Ahero sub-county morgue awaiting autopsy and further investigations.

However, the motive behind  killing of the four is yet to be determined. The suspect's relatives reported that the man did not have any issues with his family members.

According to his relatives, the man is of sound mind with no history of violence.

They also elaborated that he was peaceful, always preferring dialogue whenever a conflict arose.

Additionally, they have stated that the suspect also had no history of drug abuse or alcoholism, noting that he was always level-headed.

This case comes after a series of killings in the country, with reported incidents soaring.

A few weeks ago a man surrendered to a police station after killing his wife in Kilifi County having stabbed her to death while another man stabbed his wife in Juja, Kiambu County a week ago.
