However, sources from the James Orengo-led government informed this publication that the man was unable to speak and was yet to reveal to the DCI the events of the fateful day.

Details of the enforcement official’s abduction reveal that the man went missing from his duty station with his beret, uniform and phone having been left at the scene.

The man's relatives told journalists that they were informed that their kin was missing by his colleague who was supposed to take over the shift from him.

The officer's wife, also stated that she had received a visit from the county officials on Tuesday morning who came looking for him at his home, following his mysterious disappearance.

"His colleagues came by the house yesterday but we hadn't seen him. When I asked why they were looking for him they played dumb noting that they had come to pick him up for work. Later my brother called informing me that his body had not been recovered but his uniform and phone had," stated the wife.

The family had appealed to law enforcement officers and the public to help them locate the man on Wednesday, where the county government had confirmed his disappearance

Incidentally, this is not an isolated incident as another Nairobi county government official was abducted in November 2023, while at a Nairobi mall in the company of his wife.

In the same year, two university students were also abducted and rescued by DCI officers in the same month in Kitengela with the DCI stating that the two were lured under the guise of being on a date.
