A boda boda rider was on Saturday arrested in Olemismis Village in Narok County after ferrying two prison warders who met their deaths in the village.

According to reports, the two prison officers had requested the boda rider to help them locate a former prison warden to whom they had lent money.

The boda operator led the officers to the home after making a call to the family to enquire about any planned visitors.

Further, the boda operator revealed that the retired prison warden ordered his sons to arm themselves and deal with his colleagues whom he denied any association.

The suspect further alleged that the two were thugs who were coming in from the city to track him.

This prompted the sons to attack the two officers severely injuring them, an attack that led to their death during the fateful day.

It is also alleged that the two officers had lent the money to their colleague who was since retired to facilitate fast tracking of his pension payment, money which he had failed to refund.

The families of the slain officers are now calling on the Government to take action against the perpetrator who is still at large.

Further, the bodies of the two officers are scheduled to undergo an autopsy on Monday, while the suspects in custody are expected to appear before the court for hearing.

The boda operator is expected to aid the police in investigations into the incident as he noted that the two officers had already visited the home twice, prior to the fateful day.

A previous incident that depicts increasing violence against law enforcement officers, during the week saw a police officer stoned to death by residents during a crackdown against illicit alcohol.

Additionally, another police man was shot dead by armed gunmen while attending  to a call of nature in Elgeyo Marakwet during a raid on a Chief's camp.
