TV47 Announces Reshuffle as Willis Raburu Takes Break From Wabebe Show

Cape Media Limited has announced changes in the media house's leadership by appointing and reassigning employees occupying senior positions.

In a memo, from the Chairman of the Board of Directors, the changes were cited as a way to improve and sustain Cape Media Limited's standing as a top-tier media brand in Kenya.

Per the memo, Geoffery Mung'ou who was lauded for his continued leadership at Radio 47, was appointed as the Head of Strategy and Institutional Advancement.

"Mung'ou will be responsible for developing and implementing Cape Media Ltd's overall long-term strategic plan in content strategy, revenue growth, digital transformation and operational efficiency," read part of the memo.

On the other hand, Wilson Mbugua will now serve as the Technical Director. This a newly created role meant to ensure flawless and overall efficient functioning of the stable's broadcast infrastructure.

In the changes, Lilian Makandi was appointed as the Human Resource and Administration Manager. She will also handle daily administrative duties and operations.

Elizabeth Mutuku will now serve as a Senior Anchor and Reporter at the media house. According to the memo, Mutuku had etched a reputation for political reporting.

Finally, Everlyne Bosibori was named the Senior Business Solutions Executive.

"Bosibori has a proven track record in securing partnerships and driving revenue growth, which is instrumental in achieving our financial goals," read part of the memo

The changes took effect on April 1. Notably, these changes are expected to affect the overall look of the station, which is itching to compete with more established players like Royal Media Services, Mediamax and Standard Group.

Other changes include bolstering the media house's crime desk to have in place talent capable of delivering investigative pieces that will attract eyeballs from across Kenya.

These changes come at a time when veteran journalist Willis Raburu announced he was taking a break from the Wabebe XP show which airs on TV47.

Raburu informed his fans that the show would return at a later date. 

The journalist also serves as the Director of Digitial Services and Innovations at the media house.
