Two multi-storey hotels along Thika Road have been put on auction alongside four others from across the country.
The two hotels, GS Grand Hotel and Hotel Lilies, were featured in local dailies by auctioneers targeting to have them sold via public auction.
Other hotels on the roster were one in Kikopey, White Rhino in Nyeri, Upper Hill Hotel in Nairobi and Tel Aviv Resort in Litein, Kericho County.
GS Grand, which is located in Juja, is an eight-floor structure with a monthly income potential of Ksh2.4 million and stands on a 0.1-hectare parcel of land.
"Erected on the plot are two semi-detached hotel blocks one having 8 storeys and the other four storeys and a lower ground floor for both," read the auctioneer statement in part. Garam Auctioneers have been appointed to carry out the exercise.
Hotel Lilies, on the other hand, is also located in Juja and sits on a parcel measuring 0.4458 of an acre.
The hotel is erected on eight semi-attached maisonettes and has a four-storey clock with an attic floor which functions as part of the hotel. Phillips International Auctioneers have been appointed to conduct the exercise.
The auctioneers are also tasked with disposing of the White Rhino Hotel in Nyeri which stands on a 1.236-hectare parcel of land.
The property includes a multi-storey building, a restaurant, staff quarters, an office block, a kitchen block, a snacks shop, basement parking, and a gatehouse.
In Nairobi, the Nairobi Upper Hill Hotel which has a lobby with a stairwell, a hotel reception, a business center and a gift shop has been put on auction by Keysian Auctioneers.
Several residential buildings including mansions were also put up for auction signaling tough financial times with households defaulting on mortgages.
