The family of the late Felix Ole Kintosi on Monday, April 8 broke their silence after 6 suspects in the murder case were set free on Monday.

While addressing the press, the family expressed their fears that justice might not be served following the latest development that saw popular DJ Joe Mfalme, formerly a suspect in the case, turned into a State witness.

"We have seen that we are not likely to get justice because when the case is beginning and we hear six of the suspects have been freed," the family member stated.

"The person they are saying is the key suspect works for one of the people who have been freed. The police officers were actually witnessing as the officer was being beaten up and therefore to us this is not the way to go," the relative added.

Kintosi, a former police officer was beaten up on March 16 and succumbed to the injuries while receiving treatment at a hospital in Nairobi.

Reportedly, the suspects beat up the officer in Kikuyu after a minor traffic incident.

The entertainer and members of his crew were previously accused of instigating the altercation before officers from the Kikuyu Police Station joined them.

According to one of the relatives, Kintosi did not die immediately after the incident.

The relatives revealed that the deceased was arrested and taken to the police station before he was released the following day and got home.

"It is important for people to know that we spoke to our kin before he died. He did not die immediately on the scene where he was beaten up," the relative revealed.

While at home, as narrated by the relatives, Kintosi told his family more than one person beat him up before he started complaining of abdominal pain.

He was subsequently rushed to a local hospital where he passed away. The DJ and his co-accused persons were arrested on March 23. After being set free by the Kibera Law Courts, they will now assist police officers in conducting their investigations.

Kintosi was buried on Friday.

The family has called upon the courts and other relevant authorities to ensure anyone responsible for their kin's death is held accountable.
