  • Alcoholism will now be legally recognised as a disease in Kenya.

This is after President Uhuru Kenyatta Thursday, signed into Law the Alcoholic Drinks Control (Amendment) Act, 2015.

The Act which was sponsored by Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wa amends the Alcoholic Drinks Control Act popularly known as the Mututho law that has been in place since 2010.
