Atheists Express “Disappointment” Over Uhuru's Stand on Homosexuality

Atheists in Kenya have expressed disappointment in President Uhuru Kenyatta's remarks on gayism in Kenya.

The group claims that the whole issue has nothing to do with culture or national priorities but representation of minority.

Speaking to The Star, atheists president in Kenya Harrison Mumia said he was disappointed by President Kenyatta argument that the matter is a non issue in Kenya.

He was referring to the joint press briefing by US President Barack Obama and Uhuru at State House on Saturday when a journalist raised the question of gay rights in Kenya.

Obama made it clear that he supported gay rights.

Uhuru on the other hand, maintained that it is a non issue, as he had said in a previous press briefing.

He added that Kenya has other pressing issues to deal with.
