Class Six Girl Attacked for Reporting Sexual Assault by Head Teacher

A teenage girl was attacked and brutally beaten for reporting molestation by her head teacher.

She is currently undergoing treatment at Homa Bay County Referral Hospital, having sustained serious injuries on the head and right hand.

The class six girl had reported that the head teacher had been sexually abusing her, leading to the interdiction of the suspect last week Thursday.

She was transferred to another school nearby after the incident.

On Monday as the minor was headed to school, a group of students from the former school ambushed and descended on her, beating her with thorn tree branches.

It is not clear whether the students were acting on their own accord or not.

A paralegal from the area who is said to have exposed the abuse has raised concerns over her security.

She has recorded a statement with the police after the suspect allegedly threatened to burn down her house for playing a role in his injunction.

Speaking to The Standard, Ndhiwa OCPD Nixon Makokha said the police are investigating the matter.

He added that the suspect has been summoned to the station for investigations.
