Coast Regional Coordinator Nelson Marwa Names Biggest Drug Baron

Coast Regional Coordinator Nelson Marwa has issued a one-week ultimatum to the Ukunda Officer Commanding Station (OCS) to arrest a businessman said to be the largest drug trafficker in the South Coast.

Speaking in Ukunda, Mr Marwa directed the OCS to apprehend the suspect only identified as Bosire, for masterminding heroin sale in Ukunda, Diani and Likoni areas.

Kuna drug baron hapa Ukunda anaitwa Bosire...imechukua miaka ngapi kupata huyu Bosire na ako na nyumba, ako na kila kitu na magari... (There is a drug baron called Bosire...it has taken long for him to be nabbed yet his whereabouts are known...)" stated Marwa.

Huyu ndiye transporter mkubwa wa heroin kutoka nchi jirani, yeye ndiye analewesha vijana Ukunda, Diani mpaka Likoni. Kwani yeye ni mungu? (He is the largest transporter of Heroin from the neighbouring country peddling it in Ukunda, Diani and Likoni. Is he God?)" posed Marwa.

He warned that time was running out for other drug peddlers still engaging in the illicit trade at the Coast, and declared that the government would not relent in the fight against the vice.

In response to an incident where a meeting that was to be addressed by Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho ended in disarray in Kwale, Marwa cautioned leaders against inciting the youth to cause mayhem ahead of the August 8 polls.

The Commissioner called on the security officers in the region to be firm and perform their duties without fear or favour and follow due diligence in executing their mandate.
