The management of Ebru Africa Television has refuted a report published by several media houses indicating that its TV channel had been sold out to Media Max Ltd.
According to a press release sent to Kenyans.co.ke, Ebru Africa General Manager Nadir Kilic, condemned the unfounded claims, stating that the TV was still up and running and there were no intentions to sell it.
“Unconfirmed and factless ‘news’ touching the lives and lifelines of hardworking staff and management of Ebru Africa TV should be condemned with the strongest terms possible,” the statement read in part.
The executive expressed his disappointment that some media outlets would publish rumours, indicating that the company had been sold out after a series of meetings when none of that had actually happened.
“We are bemused that the rumour mongers are claiming that there have been a string of meetings to arrange the sell out. With whom, when and where? The so-called “media outlets” better to do their homework before publishing information of any kind,” the release stated.
Ebru Africa TV, which is under the Everest Production Incorporation, affirmed that it has been in operation since October 2011 and never had plans of closing shop.
Our sources inside Media Max expressed their surprise upon reading the report, saying that it was just a rumour and the company had not bought any other television station.
Last week, several reports emerged detailing how Ebru TV had been sold out to Media Max Ltd, claiming that Ebru had already started parking its Outside Broadcast Vehicles at Media Max offices.
