Eric Bett Wins Jubilee Kericho Nominations for Kipchebor Ward

Eric Bett, a watchman in Kericho County, has pulled a surprise victory after winning the Jubilee nominations to vie for the Kipchebor Ward.

The presiding officer declared him the winner of the exercise on Wednesday after flooring the incumbent Member of County Assembly (MCA) Joel Siele and Energy CS Charles Keter’s ally Hillary Chepkwony alias Cheplanget.

According to many residents in the ward, the move to vote for Mr Bett was motivated by the desire to teach CS Keter a lesson for imposing leaders on the locals.

Bett, on Thursday morning, took to the streets of Kericho to celebrate his victory riding on top of a Mkokoteni.

Another surprise winner in the ongoing nomination process was Cyrus Omondi, who hails from Siaya County but won Jubilee Member of County Assembly (MCA) nominations in Kahawa Wendani ward and is set to be the first person from the Lakeside region to be part of Kiambu County Assembly.
