Esther Passaris Clinches ODM Nomination For Nairobi Woman Representative Seat.

Businesswoman Esther Passaris has clinched the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) nomination ticket for the Nairobi Woman-Representative Seat.

Ms Passaris was declared the winner on Monday after winning the nominations by a landslide. She garnered 65,104 votes while her closest rival Beatrice Kwamboka got 11,296 votes.

Addressing the press after her victory, Passaris stated that she would not wait until after the election to address problems facing Nairobi residents but would start working immediately.

“I don’t want to focus on government revenue for Woman Representative position, I want to use the people themselves to get themselves empowered.

“I will not wait for August 8 elections I will start working immediately,” she said.

She is now set to face off with Rachel Shebesh, the Jubilee Party candidate in the August 8 elections.

In 2013,  Passaris was third in the race after garnering 289,292 votes while Shebesh was declared the winner after beating Silvia Mingala of ODM by 626,287 votes to 323,332.
