Esther Passaris Used Sh10 Million to Fund Her Campaigns

Nairobi County Women Representative aspirant Esther Muthoni Passaris on Monday revealed that she used Sh 10 Million to fund her campaigns.

Ms Passaris was speaking during an interview on Citizen TV where she expressed her excitement after clinching the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ticket in the nominations held on Sunday.

"I used approximately Sh10 million in my campaign, raising funds from friends, family, well-wishers and donations," Ms Passaris stated.

The businesswoman divulged that campaigning as a woman representative proved a bit difficult as the aspirants did not get any funding from their parties or the State.

She cited an instance where she used over Sh1.5 Million in one day to pay agents adding that she also sponsored a few Members of County Assembly (MCAs) who were contesting in the primaries.

Passaris beat five other opponents during the ODM nominations garnering 65,104 votes.

She will face off with Jubilee Party candidate Rachel Shebesh in the August 8 polls.
