Health PS Dr Nicholas Muraguri has found himself on the spot after it emerged that he was building a Sh120 Million palatial house in his rural home.
The Standard on Sunday reported details of the expensive country-home that sits on a 19-acre piece of land in Mweiga, Nyeri county.
Muraguri’s property has become the talk of Mweiga as residents debate on whether the expansive house is meant for the PS’ family or whether he plans to build a resort given that it is located next to the luxurious Aberdares Country Club.
However, it was not the fine details of the elegant palace that caught the attention of Kenyans on social media.
Many expressed their doubts as to how Muraguri was able to acquire the money, just a year after his appointment.
Last year, during the vetting by Parliament, the PS stated he was worth about Sh15 Million.
This is the second time that the Health PS has been on the spot since he was recorded issuing threats to a Business Daily journalist who had reported the Sh5 Billion at the Ministry of Health.
Muraguri later apologized for the incident.
