Isaac Ruto Declares War on Deputy President William Ruto’s Party

Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto has warned the United Republican Party (URP) of a bruising court battle in a bid to rescue the jobs of nominated members of County Assembly (MCAs) who were sacked from the party.

The URP National Executive Committee Friday announced its decision to expel the nine MCAs whom it accused of failing to adhere to the party’s constitution.

Speaking at the Kericho Green Stadium during Labour Day celebrations, Isaac Ruto demanded the immediate reinstatement of the expelled MCAs, warning that the war ‘had just begun’.

Ruto challenged the Deputy President William Ruto-led party URP  to expel him from the party, saying he was aware that he was the main the main target of removal by some members.

According to a report on the Standard, the party had summoned 10 MCAs for openly defying the party's decision to impeach the Bomet governor, but one MCA was spared for showing remorse when she appeared before the committee.
