Jeff Koinange Says He is Willing and Ready to Host Miguna Miguna and Esther Passaris Again

Veteran journalist Jeff Koinange on Wednesday revealed that he is willing and ready to host Nairobi Gubernatorial aspirants Miguna Miguna and Esther Passaris on the Jeff Koinange Live (JKL) show.

Koinange, who will be premiering on Citizen TV on Wednesday night, recounted the controversial Miguna-Passaris show that led to the termination of his contract at KTN.

The former CNN reporter, however, divulged that despite the outrageous comments made by Miguna and Passaris, he was ready to take up the challenge again.

"If they want to come, anytime! I call it the rematch. It will be smoking. I don't fear Miguna calling me a 'socialite bimbo'. Miguna is a run-away train; he says whatever comes to his mind. But I think; if both were to agree to come back to the show, why not? It will be smoking, but controlled!" he said in an interview with eDaily.

Mr Koinange noted that he had drawn important lessons, as a journalist, from the show in which the two politicians verbally attacked each other on air sparking public outrage.

"From the Miguna-Passaris interview, I learnt that anything can happen on live television. So, I must always be aware, always be awake, always be smart and sharp, always be ready to jump in; just in case...Lessons learnt," Koinange mentioned.

He further promised that his revived show would be clean and controlled.

"Look, we are going to have clean shows. We have a controlled environment here (Citizen TV). It is not like where we were before, where people can walk in and there is an audience. It is a controlled environment here, so obviously, we are not going to let any show get out of hand," he said.
