Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka on Tuesday stated that he had no hard feelings or any differences with Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama who threatened to ditch Wiper accusing the former Vice President of dictating and imposing incompetent leaders to the Kamba community.
Speaking at the Bomas of Kenya, during a ceremony of issuing nomination certificates to wiper candidates, Mr Musyoka stated that he would not attack or speak ill of his opponents either in NASA or Jubilee.
“I don’t know how to throw stones at people. I love my opponents whether in Nasa or Jubilee,” he stated.
Wiper Secretary-General Hassan Omar also reiterated his party leader's sentiment indicating that the party highly appreciates the role the Machakos Senator had played in the party and that the party would not fight him.
“Senator Muthama, Wiper is not in a fight with you. I ask you to come back. I have made this appeal to you in private and public. You cannot campaign for Raila Odinga, who is Nasa presidential candidate without campaigning for Mr Musyoka, they are tied at the hip,” he emphasised.
Mr Muthama on Monday indicated that he will not be campaigning anywhere for the Wiper Party.
"As I contemplate my next move, I assure there will be a bruising political battle in Ukambani and that the voice of the people will be heard.
"I do not feel that I have the face, anymore, to campaign or face out supporters of Wiper all over because the party has betrayed the people's trust, just like it did in 2013, by imposing Governor Alfred Mutua on the people," he emphasised
Muthama further cited massive irregularities and injustice in the party, stating that the wiper leadership had preferred candidates who were being handed direct tickets.
He further lamented that it was undemocratic for the party to issue direct nomination for instance in Makueni County and deny loyal party members and die-hard supporters the chance to contest fairly hence prompting his decision ditch the party.
