Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi's uncle was on Wednesday night sprayed with bullets following a raid at his home in Marakwet East, Kerio Valley.
Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, Sudi stated that the bandits found the 82-year old William Suter outside his home where they shot him severally before escaping the scene without stealing anything.
Confirming the incident, Mr Sudi expressed his sadness stating: "They found the old man just sitting on a chair and sprayed him with bullets. What is happening in Kerio Valley is quite unfortunate and must be stopped."
The Area Chief also said: “They shot him all over the body and then fled without stealing anything from the home. Police arrived after they (bandits) had already left.”
Mr Sudi criticised the Government for the continued chaos in the area which had seen many die at the hands of bandits.
"It’s like the government is unable to deal with this problem. The illegal arms are all over and the bandits are just trigger happy killing people even if they get animals to steal or not. If the illegal guns are not mopped up then our people will be finished completely," Sudi said.
On Tuesday night, suspected armed bandits from Pokot County torched over 30 houses in Korkoron and Lamaiywe villages in Marigat, Baringo County.
