The Kenyan online fraternity were at it again on Saturday morning contributing to some of the trending topics including:

1. #WiperInGarissa

Wiper Party officials led by Kalonzo Musyoka and former MP Farah Maalim spent the better part of Saturday addressing residents of Garissa town.

2. #JohoArrested

News of the arrest and detention of Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho spread first sparking tension in the County with his supporters condemning the police for the move.

The discussion went on for the better part of Friday and Saturday morning with most people accusing the government of intimidating the bold governor for his strong support for the Opposition.

However, others read malice in the whole incident claiming that Joho could be engaging in theatrics to portray the government in bad light.

3. Urban Police Station

The police station was still among the trending topics Saturday morning following the arrest of Governor Joho.

Joho was briefly detained at Urban with three other Opposition MPs after reportedly demanding the release of a suspect who had been apprehended earlier in the day.

Following the arrest, Opposition leaders sent out different messages demanding for his immediate release. He was later set free on Friday night.

However, Coast region DCI Pius Macharia refuted the news maintaining that Joho had not been detained.

4. #JubileeSmartCard

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday presided over the launch of Jubilee smart membership card at the Kasarani indoor arena.

The topic dominated and topped the trends with Kenyans giving varying comments regarding the launch and the Jubilee administration as a whole.
