Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire Warns President Uhuru Kenyatta Ahead of Kisii Visit

Kitutu Masaba Member of Parliament (MP) Timothy Bosire has told President Uhuru Kenyatta to be wary of how he will address residents of Kisii County where he is expected to tour later this week.

The outspoken MP, who is also the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) national treasurer, was speaking during a press conference where he warned the President against intimidating the masses when he visits Kisii, as the locals might not take it lightly.

“I can see he has the energy to handle his perceived opponents ruthlessly. I am waiting for that to happen when he visits Kisii. He should differentiate public functions from private ones. I am ready to face him when he tours Kisii,” Bosire stated.

This comes after recent functions presided over by the President were characterised by bad mouthing and bitter exchanges.

The President has of late been going bare-knuckle on members of the opposition who are boldly criticising his government.

Several leaders from Kisii region have openly backed the Jubilee administration saying it had done its part as far as initiating projects was concerned.

Cabinet Secretary for Education Dr. Fred Matiang’i recently stated that the opposition was out to taint the image of the ruling coalition by selling cheap propaganda that was misleading Kenyans.

He further labelled them as cons for not acknowledging the progress that was there for all to see.

Uhuru is set to make the State of the Nation address later today at parliament buildings and it remains to be seen how members of the opposition will react to this after last year’s address was marred by chaos when some MPs, including Bosire were thrown out for dissent.
