Man Demands to be Arrested After Father's Death

A man walked into a police station in Naivasha on Wednesday and demanded to be arrested claiming he killed his father in 2013.

David Mwangi, told police officers at the station that he needed forgiveness because he could no longer sleep.

“This is a bizarre case. The suspect walked into the police station and confessed to killing his father for selling family land,” said Naivasha OCPD Titus Munyoki.

According to the OCPD, Mr Mwangi confessed to being an accomplice in the murder of his father, Erick Githambo, who was clobbered to death in Kinoo area.

A source who sought anonymity, said Mr Githambo sold part of the family farm in Naivasha, then left for Nairobi where he began a taxi business.

“The transaction split the family. Some members were very bitter as they did not receive a penny from the sale," the Star quoted the source.

The Police boss confirmed that the account by Mr Mwangi matched details of his father's death, despite previous investigations claiming that Mr Githambo was attacked by thugs.

The man was taken to Kabete police station where the case was first reported.
