Man Goes on Rampage, Stabs In-Laws

Police in Homa Bay County are looking for a man who attacked his in-laws with a knife, stabbing a teenage boy to death and leaving his mother in critical condition last week.

According to witnesses, the man had earlier battered his wife in an escalated marital argument before following her to her parents house in Rodi-Kapany township where she had sought refuge.

The suspect pounced on his 14-year-old brother-in-law and the mother with a knife, stabbing them repeatedly for conspiring to hide his wife away from him.

The boy died at the Homa Bay County hospital while undergoing treatment, while the mother is still in a critical state at the same hospital.

Homa Bay County Police Commander John Omusanga, assured that the police were after the suspect and would soon bring him to book.

"We are following important leads to ensure the suspect is apprehended so that he can be charged in court," Omusaga confirmed.

In a string of fatal domestic incidences caused by a knife,  a man was reported last year in December to have stabbed his girlfriend at Tassia estate in Nairobi, while in mid January a woman stabbed her lover in Nairobi for turning down her marriage proposal.
